Renowned singer-songwriter Paul Simon was profiled on yesterday’s episode of CBS This Morning. The 75-year-old musician can be seen performing with his band and sitting for an interview at his home studio with Lee Cowan.

Simon examines his early days with Art Garfunkel, detailing his songwriting process on such compositions as “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “Slip Sliding Away.” Simon also revisits Central Park, the site of his 1981 concert with Garfunkel that saw over 500,000 attendees. Cowan and Simon also touch on his solo career, including his 2016 No. 1 album Stranger To Stranger and what the future may bring – including the end of Simon’s career and ultimately his life.

“I never really heard boundaries between music, to me it didn’t really matter where the stuff came from,” Simon said regarding his South African influence evidenced on Graceland. “It all sounded to me like something that I liked and therefore was popular music. It was the biggest learning experience of my musical life – no question about it.”
