Paul McCartney has been tapped to headline the 2020 Glastonbury festival. McCartney will perform at the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night of the event, which takes place June 24 – 28, 2020 at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, England.

“It’s real!! So excited .. having Paul McCartney coming back to headline the Pyramid next year is an absolute dream come true,” wrote Glastonbury organizer Emily Eavis in a post on Instagram. “There really was no one that we wanted more for the 50th anniversary.” Paul McCartney last played the event, which as Eavis noted turns 50 next year, in 2004. “Hey Glasto – excited to be part of your Anniversary celebrations,” added McCartney in a statement. “See ya next summer!”

Paul’s appearance at Glastonbury is the only concert currently on McCartney’s schedule for 2020. Additional Glastonbury announcements are forthcoming.
