Paul McCartney kicked off the 2024 leg of his Got Back Tour on Tuesday at Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, Uruguay. Macca fit the live premiere of The Beatles track “Now And Then” within his 37-song performance.

The Beatles released their final song, “Now And Then,” as a single last fall. Born as a John Lennon demo in the late 1970s, McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr started working on “Now And Then” during the 1995 Anthology sessions. Paul and Ringo each cut new parts in 2022 and the single arrived on November 2, 2023.

Paul McCartney trotted out “Now And Then” towards the middle of his main set in Montevideo. McCartney played the tune on piano backed by his band as footage from the Peter Jackson-directed music video was displayed on the screen behind them.

The rest of the setlist featured a similar mix of Beatles, Wings and solo classics as other Got Back shows performed by McCartney since the tour started in 2022. Macca used multiple opportunities to pay tribute to his late Beatles bandmates. Paul played solo cut “Here Today” in honor of John Lennon and performed a virtual “I’ve Got A Feeling” duet with his longtime writing partner. Additionally, McCartney dedicated “Something” to the memory of George Harrison.
