Paul Hoffman Of Greensky Bluegrass Guests With The Wood Brothers At Blue Ox

Over the past few years Greensky Bluegrass has added a cover of The Wood Brothers classic “Luckiest Man” to their repertoire. The Michigan band’s sparkling rendition of the song is sung by mandolin wiz Paul Hoffman. Paul had a chance to perform “Luckiest Man” with The Wood Brothers themselves over the weekend at the second annual Blue Ox Music Festival in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on Friday.

The Wood Brothers collaboration with Paul Hoffman almost didn’t take place as a wild storm tore through Whispering Pines Campground. Thankfully no one was hurt and festival organizers were able to work quickly in getting the main stage ready for action. Fan-shot video of Phoff guesting with The Wood Brothers on “Luckiest Man” has recently surfaced on YouTube. While videographer Jeff McCabe starts shooting from behind the stage he eventually moves towards the side to give us a better view. Hoffman takes a strong solo and provides pretty harmonies throughout, watch:
