In 1975 Patti Smith unveiled her debut album, Horses, an LP that went on to influence many musicians in a number of genres. Smith told Rolling Stone that she plans to celebrate the occasion by performing the album at Horses-related events around the world.

“I think we continue to deliver all of these songs sometimes stronger than when I was young,” Smith explained to Rolling Stone. “So I’m going to be happy to celebrate it, to perform the album with happiness, not with any kind of cynicism or a cashing-in thing. It will be a true, proud celebration.” Patti’s band currently includes a pair of musicians who played on Horses -guitarist Lenny Kaye and drummer Jay Dee Daugherty -along with bassist Tony Shanahan and Smith’s son Jackson and daughter Jesse.

No dates for the jaunt have been revealed as of yet, but Smith said she wants “celebrate it in New York in a special way,” on the day the album was released -November 10th. “We have things we’ll be doing in Paris and London, everywhere, because it’s a true milestone,” Patti added.
