Page McConnell & Trey Anastasio Release Synth-Infused ‘Life Saving Gun’ Single
Hear the second taste of the duo’s imminent album, January.

Phish keyboardist Page McConnell and guitarist Trey Anastasio released a new single, “Life Saving Gun.” The track is set for the duo’s new album, January, which arrives tomorrow, Friday, March 10 via JEMP Records.
Trey and Page announced the follow-up to their 2020 release, December, earlier this week. McConnell and Anastasio captured January’s eight new originals — December was made up of Phish songs in the duo format — in January 2023 at Trout Studios in Brooklyn with producer Bryce Goggin. Trey and Page previewed the album with “Dancing In Midair” and now follow with “Life Saving Gun.”
“We just walked into the studio with literally an acoustic guitar and a couple of synthesizers,” Anastasio noted in an interview with SiriusXM’s Phish Radio. Those synthesizers are put to good use on the latest preview.
