Page McConnell & The Meter Men Set For Jazz Fest Late Nights

Page McConnell & The Meter Men have become a staple of New Orleans Jazz Fest late nights and that trend will continue in 2014 as the quartet will play Republic on April 25 and 26. The interesting pairing of Stanton Moore and Marco Benevento will open on the 25th, while The London Souls kick things off on the 26th.

The Meter Men consists of three original members of The Meters -Zigaboo Modeliste, George Porter Jr. and Leo Nocentelli. The quartet, featuring the three Meters joined by Phish keyboardist Page McConnell, focus on material from the legendary funk act’s illustrious career. Doors open at 9 p.m. each night with the music set to start at 10. Tickets for both shows go on sale this Saturday, March 8, at 11 a.m. CT via Ticketweb.

Both shows are part of the 3rd Annual Nolafunk Jazz Fest Series, which also features performances from the likes of Dead Feat, JoJo Hermann & The New Orleans Suspects’s Down On The Bayou V benefit, Tab Benoit’s Swampland Jam and more.
