The 15th edition of the FYF Fest will no longer take place. Organizers Goldenvoice canceled the event which was set to take place at Exposition Park in Los Angeles on July 21 – 22.

Goldvoice posted a message on the FYF website indicating the organizers “felt unable to present an experience on par with the expectations of our loyal fans and the Los Angeles music community this year.” Janet Jackson and Florence + The Machine, as well as My Bloody Valentine, The Breeders, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, St. Vincent, Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, Future and The xx were among the acts on the now-canceled lineup. The cancellation message also promised the announcement of “special local shows soon, featuring some of the amazing artists from the 2018 lineup.”

FYF Fest was created by Sean Carlson and made its debut in 2004. As Billboard noted, Carlson resigned in 2017 after “graphic accounts of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior were made public.” Goldenvoice first invested in FYF Fest in 2011, but at the end of last year the company bought out Carlson’s shares and he was replaced by Jenn Yacoubian.
