The 2017 installment of the Peach Music Festival came to a close on Sunday at Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Festivalgoers were treated to the event’s most diverse day of music with sets from blues great Joe Bonamassa, soul stars Hayley Jane & The Primates, brass band The Soul Rebels, instrumental act Butcher Brown and more. After the Allman Brothers Band broke up drummer Butch Trucks put together Les Brers featuring his former band mates Marc Quiñones, Oteil Burbridge, Jaimoe, Jack Pearson and others. Les Brers played their final gig on Sunday following the tragic death of Butch earlier this year. The powerhouse band performed such ABB classics as “Whipping Post,” “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed” and “Hot’Lanta.”
Phish bassist Mike Gordon showed off his impressive five-piece on the Peach Stage. The band’s set mixed material from the soon-to-be-released OGOGO including “Crazy Sometimes” and “Marissa” with old favorites such as “Peel” and “Face.” Gordon’s troupe was joined by the Turkuaz Horns for “Face.” Georgia rockers Widespread Panic brought the main stage action to a close with a career-spanning set that included a standout “Driving Song” > “Shut Up & Drive” > “Protein Drink/Sewing Machine” > “Driving Song” sequence and concluded with “Ain’t Life Grand.” Check out Bill Grenfell’s photos from early in the day as well as videos from Sunday at Peach:
