Ominous Seapods Announce 2018 Reunion Run

Upstate New York launched a number of notable jam acts in the early ’90s that grew from local bands to regional and national acts. Included among a list of bands that includes moe., Yolk and Moon Boot Lover are Ominous Seapods. The Seapods knew how to craft a song better than most in the scene, but certainly could jam with the best of them. Sadly, Ominous Seapods broke up in 2001 and have played a handful of gigs since. Thankfully, the lineup from the band’s peak era will reunite for three shows in January.

Up first is a performance at The Cohoes Music Hall in the heart of Seapods Country near Albany on January 12. The show was added after a January 13th show at the venue sold out. New York City jam fans will then have a chance to catch Ominous Seapods in action at Brooklyn Bowl on January 14. The concert will be a throwback to the days of the Wetlands Preserve as it will also feature Zen Tricksters and longtime RatDog member Kenny Brooks.
