Olivia Jean will issue a new album, Raving Ghost, on May 5 via Third Man Records. The Detroit-born singer-songwriter previewed the record with the single, “Trouble.”
Jean produced Raving Ghost, splitting recording time at Los Angeles’ Valentine Recording Studios and Third Man Recording Studio in her home base of Nashville. Olivia tapped a group of top-notch musicians to back her up including My Morning Jacket keyboardist Bo Koster, Jellyfish co-founder Roger Joseph Manning Jr. and drummers Carla Azar (T-Bone Burnett, Nikki Lane) and Patrick Keeler (The Raconteurs, The Afghan Whigs).

Press materials described Raving Ghost as “an album populated by mysterious characters in various states of danger – cursed lovers, doomed souls, women deliriously haunted by unseen forces.” Those characters came from Olivia and her constant companion.
“Ever since I was a kid, writing songs and playing guitar has been an addiction that nothing else can touch,” Jean recalled. “My guitar is an appendage. I could never put my guitar down even if I tried.”
