The Ohio State University Marching Band paid tribute to Rush and the band’s late great drummer Neil Peart during the Ohio State football game halftime show on Saturday. The marching band delivered renditions of Rush classics “Tom Sawyer,” “Fly By Night” and “Red Barchetta” and also added an expanded drumline in honor of Peart.
“To help recreate Peart’s sonic impact, the percussion section was expanded by 20 toms and 20 extra cymbals mounted on four racks,” Ohio State News reported. “They were at the front of the formation and played by the band’s five percussion alternates for this week.”
