Official Video: Umphrey’s McGee’s Brendan Bayliss Performs Solo Piano ‘Push & Pull’

Back in May Umphrey’s McGee surprised fans with the release of it’s you, their second studio album of 2018. One of the more poignant numbers on the LP is Brendan Bayliss’ “Push & Pull.” The band shared video of Bayliss performing the song on piano.

Brendan played “Push & Pull” in the familiar confines of Chicago’s I.V. Lab Studios in March 2018. UM recorded a number of their past albums at I.V. Lab. “When I was writing the song, I was thinking about a good friend of mine who was going through a bad breakup,” Bayliss told Parade about the track. “They had a son and I was thinking about his perspective and how he was stuck in the middle, so this is what I thought he might want to say to his parents at the time.”
