OctFest Announces Initial Lineup

This fall Pitchfork and their new beer and culture website October will team up to present OctFest, a one-day craft beer and music festival that will take place at Brooklyn Hanger in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn on Saturday, September 9. The fest is set feature eight bands and 40 breweries and will be split out into two sessions, with each featuring a different line-up of music and beer.

The day session, which will run from 1:00 – 5:00 PM, will be headlined by indie-stalwarts Guided By Voices, and will also feature sets from Okkervil River and The Sadies. The evening session will see Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires topping the bill with Kilo Kash and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, and will run from 7:00 – 11:00 PM.

The brewery line-up will include a number of NYC-area favorites likes Bronx (Bronx, NY), Peekskill (Peekskill, NY), Singlecut (Queens, NY), Sixpoint (Brooklyn, NY), and Threes (Brooklyn, NY); as well as selections from 4 Hands (St. Louis, MO), New Holland (Holland, MI), Rogue (Ashland, OR), Schlafly (St Louis, MO), Stony Creek (Branford, CT); and international offerings from Cloudwater (England), Radeberger (Germany), and Weihenstephan (Germany).
