Chanteuse Norah Jones appeared on Wednesday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Jones led her band through her 2002 hit single “Don’t Know Why” at 30 Rock.

Norah Jones’ visit to Fallon came in support of Come Away With Me: 20th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition, a massive set featuring 22 previously unreleased tracks recently released via Blue Note/UMe. Come Away With Me was the album that put Jones on the map with “Don’t Know Why” its breakthrough single.

Jones shared the following in looking back at Come Away With Me:

“I was incredibly proud of this album and so thankful to everyone who made it with me…I figured it was a good first try and felt that it truly captured who I was – musically – at that time, which made me the proudest and is all you can really hope for when making a record. In the end I was so thankful that I got to explore a few different paths before putting them all together. No one, including the label, had any idea it would reach the success that it did. I’m forever grateful to Bruce and the very special team at Blue Note for giving me the chance to find my sound through all of it and for never telling me who I had to be.”

Norah Jones made her television debut in 2002 by performing “Don’t Know Why” on The Tonight Show. The version last night had a more jazzy feel than the original. See “Don’t Know Why” from Wednesday’s Fallon below:
