“This festival is a party to kick off the public announcement of The Louisiana Music & Heritage Experience, a grand scale museum dedicated to our State’s rich musical history,” wrote organizers of the Nola Funk Fest. “We believe that Louisiana’s music history needs to be preserved to educate, inspire and empower!”
In addition to the music, attendees can enjoy programming that will preview the museum’s offerings including a pair of symposiums in which musical-flavored oral histories will document the evolution of blues and jazz into R&B, rock and funk. Plus, the New Orleans Jazz Museum will be hosting the I Found My Thrill: The Music and Artistry of Fats Domino and Dave Bartholomew exhibit during the Nola Funk Fest.
