Vocalist Nicki Bluhm is gearing up for the release of To Rise You Gotta Fall, a solo album due on June 1 via Compass Records. Today, Bluhm has shared the official video for the album’s title track.

Nicki spent six years leading the Gramblers, but left the band behind to record her forthcoming LP. To Rise You Gotta Fall chronicles Bluhm’s move to Tennessee and a turbulent period in her life that included a divorce. The vocalist laid down the 11-track effort at the famed Sam Phillips Recording in Memphis. Matt Ross-Spang (Margo Price, Jason Isbell) produced the album featuring songs written over a two-year time frame.

The studio band for To Rise You Gotta Fall includes keyboardists Al Gamble of St. Paul & The Broken Bones and Rick Steff, former Wilco drummer Ken Coomer, bassist Dave Smith and guitarist Will Sexton. Ross-Spang also contributed guitar work to the LP, while Sam Shoup was brought in to compose string arrangements.
