2017 has been a quiet year for Nicki Bluhm thus far. Bluhm made a rare appearance at the Mystic Theater in Petaluma, California on Sunday night, where she opened for and then sat-in with the headliners during their set.

Nicki started the evening with an acoustic set and mentioned she was “in transition.” Bluhm accompanied herself on guitar and also sang one a capella. Lukas then took the stage to begin his set with a series of solo performances that included covers of The Beatles’ “Something,” Neil Young’s “I Am A Child” and Eric Clapton’s “If I Could Change The World.” The rest of Promise Of The Real soon emerged for a set that saw Nicki duet with Lukas on a cover of “Crazy,” a song penned by Willie Nelson (aka Lukas’s dad). Lukas Nelson & POTR also featured a stellar rendition of Bob Dylan’s “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall” performed in the style of Leon Russell.
