Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers Cover Genesis For New ‘Van Session’
By Scott Bernstein Sep 4, 2016 • 3:35 pm PDT

Tonight, Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers open for the Tedeschi Trucks Band at the Avila Beach Bowl in San Luis Obispo, California. The band took the opportunity of the drive between last night’s gig in San Diego and this evening’s stop at the Avila Beach Bowl to film the latest Van Session. For those unfamiliar with the video series, Nicki and her band mates pass the time in between gigs by playing cover songs in their van, recording them with an iPhone and posting them online for fun.
Van Session #31 features a cover of Genesis’s “That’s All.” The song was the second track and second single off Genesis’s self-titled 1983 album. While Genesis were prog-rock legends, “That’s All” were there was time scoring a pop hit as it reached #6 in 1984 and would be a taste of the massive success they would achieve just a few years later with the release of Invisible Touch. Nicki provides lead vocals while Dave Mulligan adds backing vocals. Take a look:
