Newport Folk Festival Adds The Barr Brothers
The continuously expanding lineup for the 2015 Newport Folk Festival now also includes the newly added The Barr Brothers. Brad Barr, Andrew Barr, Sarah Page and Andres Vial have been confirmed to perform Saturday, July 25. Founded in 1959, the Newport Folk Festival will be held at Fort Adams State Park Friday, July 24 to Sunday, July 26.
The Barr Brothers join a Newport lineup that already included Iron & Wine and Ben Bridwell, The Decemberists, First Aid Kit, Sturgill Simpson, J Mascis, Blake Mills, Courtney Barnett and many more. Check out the Newport entry in the newly redesigned JamBase Festival Guide.
Today The Barr Brothers also released a new five-song EP, Alta Falls. The tracks that make up the EP were recorded during the sessions for their 2014 album, Sleeping Operator. Artwork for the digital-only EP was made by renowned Montreal artist Madame Gilles. Stream the EP via Spotify below
