New The Shins Album Almost Completed

It appears a new album from The Shins is nearly ready for release. New messages posted to the band’s Instagram account indicates the follow-up to 2012’s Port Of Morrow has reached the final stages of completion.

The message attached to a short audio clip signed “J” by frontman James Mercer states, “Final mixing of a new Shins record is underway,” while promising more information soon (another post indicates band member Yuuki Matthews is handling mixing). A second Instagram post followed with another suspected audio preview of the new album, its note containing the following set of lyrics:

I know. If she gave a fuck then it would show. And she wouldn’t have me stabbing other boys like it’s just a bit of sweetness she enjoys!

The Portland-based rock band last performed live back in 2013 but are set to break that hiatus this year. Check out the Instagram shares from the band:
