When we posted about the launch of a YouTube channel from the team behind Concert Vault, we knew there would plenty of gems uploaded to the site, we just didn’t realize how many and how quickly the channel would be populated. The latest addition is professionally-shot footage of the complete Jerry Garcia Band late show from April 2, 1976 at The Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ.

The lineup for the show consists of Garcia on guitar and vocals, John Kahn on bass, Keith Godchaux on keys, Donna Jean Godchaux on backing vocals and Ron Tutt on drums. Garcia and his ensemble deliver an amazing set of covers such as The Band’s “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” “The Harder They Come” by Jimmy Cliff, The Rolling Stones’ “Moonlight Mile” and more. There’s even a standout take on “Sugaree” to kick off the show. While there’s the occasional audio weirdness and the performance was filmed in black-and-white, Jerry fans should get a huge kick out of this set. Take a look and be sure to check out a list of many full shows and Grateful Dead clips that are available on the channel:
