SEMINAL BAND RELEASE NEW ALBUM IN MAY
NEW SONGS PREVIEWED AT SXSW

Meat Puppets
Everyone from Nirvana to Pavement to Stone Temple Pilots cite the Meat Puppets as one of the most significant American bands. Sewn Together, the group’s follow-up to 2007’s Rise To Your Knees, will be released on May 12, 2009 on Megaforce Records. The Meat Puppets will debut songs from their forthcoming release during SXSW at Stubb’s BBQ on March 19. Recorded at The Saltmine in Phoenix, Arizona in winter 2008, the album features the Kirkwood Brothers with drummer Ted Marcus.

The highly influential Meat Puppets started as a punk rock band, but established their own unique style, blending punk with country and psychedelic rock. Meat Puppets later gained significant exposure when Chris and Curt Kirkwood served as guest musicians on Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged performance in 1993. The band’s subsequent album Too High to Die went gold, selling over 500,000 albums, and became their most successful release. The band reunited in 2006.

A lil’ taste of live Puppets from last year to tide you over…
