The New Mastersounds canceled their upcoming U.S. tour dates in the wake of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. “Given our unique position of being dotted all over the world, the current state of touring is too fragile and the economics are too risky for the band to leave their respective homes to tour the US for weeks at a time,” wrote the band in announcing the decision.
The Leeds, England-birthed funk act were due to return to the United States in April for shows in Denver, San Francisco, Seattle and New York City. Additionally, The New Mastersounds were slated to play two nights at the House Of Blues in New Orleans during Jazz Fest on May 6 and 7. Refunds are available from the point of purchase or venue.

Hello friends. After weighing all the information, as a band, we have decided that until there is no more mention of ‘that’ word, NMS will not be touring in the US.
Given our unique position of being dotted all over the world, the current state of touring is too fragile and the economics are too risky for the band to leave their respective homes to tour the US for weeks at a time. It’s an unfortunate reality we have to face and not one we have taken lightly. All further US shows are now cancelled (not postponed). Please contact the venue directly for refunds on purchased tickets.
We hope we will be back at it once things are 100% settled. Until then, stay safe and keep it funky!
