The New Mastersounds Take Role Of ‘Living Donor Champion’ For Carly Lowry

By Scott Bernstein Nov 16, 2017 10:39 am PST

Vocalist Charly Lowry was featured on Made For Pleasure, the most recent album from funk act The New Mastersounds. Sadly, Lowry is in need of a new kidney and the quartet have stepped up to help her.

When Charly was 18 she was diagnosed with a rare disease and recently her kidneys started to fail and she has to receive dialysis. Lowry is required to go to a clinic for four hours three times a week, so she can rarely travel or sing the way she used to. Charly’s situation can be vastly improved by a kidney transplant. The New Mastersounds are asking anyone who has considered becoming a living kidney donor to get in touch by contacting the UNC Medical Center at Chapel Hill at 984-974-7568 or by emailing livingdonors at unchealth.unc.edu.

In the Facebook group Funky Friends For Charly, those interested can follow Charly’s story. Watch a video from the band about Lowry:
