On April 22, funk act The New Mastersounds will releaseThe Nashville Session through Royal Potato Family. Recorded live during a private appearance at Welcome To 1979 studio in Nashville at the end of last year, the band has made available official video of the session.

A small audience was present for the intimate recording of The Nashville Session, which was immediately mixed down to quarter-inch stereo tape and then cut directly to vinyl lacquers without overdubs. A 1000-piece limited edition, vinyl pressing of the career-spanning The Nashville Session will be issued on April 22 with a digital release set for May 27.

Pre-orders are available for The Nashville Session through a Pledge Music campaign. Among the rewards offered is a ski trip with the band, a wine tasting members of TNM, a day spent sailing with guitarist Eddie Roberts and a VIP ticket package granting side stage access to the band’s shows at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

On Thursday The New Mastersounds start a 21-date Spring Tour with the first of four shows at NYC’s Brooklyn Bowl. Watch The New Mastersounds performing legendary jazz guitarist Grant Green’s arrangement of James Brown’s “In The Middle” here:
