The inaugural Hinterland Music Festival will take place at Water Works Park in Des Moines, Iowa on July 31 and August 1. Hinterland organizers will provide two days of music curated for Midwesterners who love both urban settings and the outdoors.

Old Crow Medicine Show and Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros have been tapped to headline the first-ever Hinterland. Alt-country songstress Brandi Carlile, synth pop darlings Future Islands, indie stalwarts TV on the Radio and bluegrass wizards Yonder Mountain String Band are also aboard for the new fest as are St. Paul & The Broken Bones and Joe Pug. Three additional acts will be announced soon. Advance two-day pre-sale tickets and VIP passes will go on sale Friday, February 20 at 10:00 a.m. via the festival’s website.
