After ten years of planning a new amphitheater on the famed boardwalk in Brooklyn’s Coney Island neighborhood is expected to open in July. Curbed reports developer iStar recently announced the opening month for the 5,000-capacity venue in New York City and has shared new renderings of the Coney Island Amphitheater.

“America’s Playground is getting ready to welcome its greatest attraction yet!” Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams said in a press release from iStar quoted by Curbed. “From its very first performance this summer, the Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk will be a must-visit destination for fun-seekers in search of top-flight entertainment from near and far.” Curbed revealed Live Nation “will hold a long-term lease to operate the amphitheater, and is planning to create a full summer series of live music, comedy shows, and family entertainment.” As for press time, no performances have been confirmed for the new venue.
