On May 2, the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans will host what looks to be an incredible event dubbed NEVILLES FOREVER: A CELEBRATION OF THE NEVILLE BROTHERS AND THEIR MUSIC, to bid farewell to a national music treasure –The Neville Brothers. The show will feature performances from the Neville Brothers (Aaron, Art, Charles, Cyril), Widespread Panic, Trombone Shorty, Galactic, Allen Toussaint, Irma Thomas, Terence Blanchard, Ivan Neville, John Boutté, Anders Osborne and Ian Neville. Additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Dan Was will serve as music director and will lead an all-star house band. Was has worked on a number of tributes in recent years including last weekend’s tribute to Bob Dylan for MusicCares and last year’s Gregg Allman All My Friends concert. “The Neville Brothers are the royal family of New Orleans funk,” said Was in a statement. “Individually each brother is a musical powerhouse unto himself, but when they play together they create musical magic. The fact that they’ve come home to New Orleans for this show makes it all the more special.”

Tickets go on sale this Monday, February 16 at 10 a.m. CT via Ticketmaster. Look for the show to be filmed and recorded for multi-platform distribution throughout traditional and digital media. NEVILLES FOREVER: A CELEBRATION OF THE NEVILLE BROTHERS AND THEIR MUSIC takes place during the second weekend of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

The Neville Brothers last performed in 2012 at the Hollywood Bowl. May’s concert will give their hometown fans a proper chance to say goodbye to a band that has represented New Orleans so well over the past five decades.
