Nelly Furtado recently captured a Tiny Desk Concert, shared today by NPR Music. The Grammy-winning singer and songwriter delivered some of her biggest hits, her remix of a Missy Elliot classic and a new song.
As per NPR Music’s Stephen Thompson: “Nelly Furtado’s career has spanned a quarter-century, not to mention tens of millions of records sold, so it’s tough to fit all the highlights into a single Tiny Desk concert. But damned if Furtado didn’t at least try.”

Joining Furtado was a host of musicians to help her reimagine her songs the Tiny Desk way including keyboardist Hrag Sanbalian, percussionist Daniel Stone, violinist William Lamoureux, guitarist Brian West and bassist Lionel Jarvis. Vocalists Jim Beanz and Anjulie Persaud along with DJ Lil’ Jaz rounded out the impressive ensemble.
As NPR Music noted, Furtado and DJ Lil’ Jaz have a daughter together, Nevis, who acted as creative director. Furtado and her band performed hits including “Promiscuous,” “Say It Right,” “I’m Like A Bird,” “Maneater” and “Give It To Me” — the latter originally a collaboration with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake.
Nelly also delivered her remix of the Timbaland and Missy Elliot’s “Get Ur Freak On” followed by a performance of new single, “Love Bites.” Watch Nelly Furtado’s Tiny Desk Concert below.
