Neil Young Performs ‘Old Man’ With Promise Of The Real For The First Time

Renowned rocker Neil Young continued a European Tour backed by Promise Of The Real on Thursday night at AccorHotels Arena in Paris. The big news of the night was the first-ever Neil & POTR version of one of Young’s most famous songs, “Old Man.”

While Neil had performed “Old Man” a number of times during last year’s tour with Promise Of The Real, all of the versions came during the solo portion of the set. Young hadn’t played the Harvest classic yet in any form in 2016 until last night. Thursday’s performance also included the tour’s third “Vampire Blues,” fourth “If I Could Have Her Tonight,” third “La Vie En Rose” and second “Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere.” Neil Young & Promise Of The Real ended the show with a well-jammed take on “Like An Inca,” a song the guitarist busted out for the first time since 1982 last week in Lyon.
