2017 has been one of the quietest years of Neil Young‘s career, but September has seen a few blips of action. This Saturday Neil will perform his first set of the year as part of Farm Aid 2017 and earlier this month Young finally released his long-lost Hitchhiker LP. Young recently issued a video for the version of “Powderfinger” found on Hitchhiker.

Hitchhiker was recorded by just Neil Young, his voice and a guitar at Indigo Studios in Malibu on August 11, 1976. Longtime NY collaborator David Briggs was behind the boards for the LP. Included on the album was a stark version of “Powderfinger,” a song Young first issued on his 1979 Rust Never Sleeps album that went on to become a live staple.
