Neil Young & Crazy Horse Conclude Fresno Run

On Thursday night, famed rockers Neil Young & Crazy Horse concluded a three-night stand at Warnors Theatre in Fresno, California. Crazy Horse’s performances in Fresno were the band’s first concerts since a 2014 European Tour. The quartet worked in one song they hadn’t played over the previous two evenings and switched around the order of the setlist a bit to close out the run at Warnors.

Neil Young, multi-instrumentalist Nils Lofgren, bassist Billy Talbot and drummer Ralph Molina opened with “Love & Only Love,” the concert’s lone 2018 debut. “Love & Only Love” dates back to 1990’s Ragged Glory and was a staple of NYCH’s 2012 – 2014 tours. While “Big Time” opened on Tuesday and Wednesday, the recently revived Broken Arrow gem was played second on Thursday.

Next, the band pulled “Don’t Cry No Tears” from Zuma and the classic “Winterlong.” Both “Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere” and “The Losing End” were trotted out on Wednesday for the first time in 2018 and the two tunes were played earlier in the evening last night. Young and his band then delivered a run of “World On A String,” “Scattered (Let’s Think About Livin’)” and “Fuckin’ Up.” Thursday’s 13-song main set concluded with beloved gems “Cinnamon Girl” and “Cortez The Killer” followed by “Too Far Gone” and “Country Home.”

Neil Young & Crazy Horse encored with “Roll Another Number (For The Road)” last night as they did on Tuesday. After a night off, the group heads to Bakersfield for performances on Saturday and Sunday night.
