Neil Young Busts Out Song In Lyon Last Played Over 33 Years Ago

The current European leg of Neil Young and Promise of The Real‘s tour continues to feature rarities from the veteran rocker and the group featuring Lukas Nelson and Micah Nelson. Last night’s concert at Halle Tony Garnier in Lyon, France saw the bust out of a song Young had not previously played since October 3, 1982.
Young broke out “Like An Inca” about halfway through the set Wednesday evening. The song was recorded for Young’s experimental 1982 record Trans and was last played more than 33 years ago – also in France – at Parc des Exposition in Bordeaux. Much like Neil’s recent show in Leeds that saw the return of “If I Could Have Her Tonight” after 48 years and an encore featuring the Promise Of The Real debut of “When You Dance I Can Really Love,” the encore in Lyon also featured a rarity in the form of the first “Cortez The Killer” encore in three years, and just its second rendition of 2016.
Young and Promise Of The Real’s European Tour continues tonight as they will soon take the stage at Le Dôme de Marseille in Marseille, France. Their collaborative album EARTH, culled in part from live performances on last year’s Rebel Content Tour, will be released tomorrow. View audience-shot images and video clips from Lyon below:
