Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats Bring ‘South Of Here’ Cut To ‘Colbert’

Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats were the musical guests on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday. The band performed their song, “Heartless,” for the late night television appearance.

“Heartless” is the lead single off Rateliff and company’s upcoming album, South of Here, arriving on June 28 via legendary label Stax. Renowned producer Brad Cook (Waxahatchee, Bon Iver, Kevin Morby) helmed Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats’ first studio album in three years, cut at Sonic Ranch near El Paso.

For their Colbert performance of “Heartless,” Rateliff led the Night Sweats through the country-tinged number, punctuated by brass as the song the built to its crescendo. Watch Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats perform “Heartless” on Colbert below:

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats have European and U.S. shows on the horizon and will team with My Morning Jacket for a co-headline tour in September. The band also recently announced their first arena tour set for the fall.
