National Geographic presented an all-star Earth Day Eve celebration on Wednesday that went heavy on musical performances. My Morning Jacket, Willie Nelson, Maggie Rogers and Angélique Kidjo were among those who contributed.

Travel expert Jessica Nabongo served as host for the hour-long livestream special. Performances were recorded at various places around the globe and Nat Geo’s Earth Day Eve celebration also featured appearances from Brian Skerry, Dr. Jane Goodall, Lillygol Sedaghat, Dr. Lucy Hawkes and Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant. Additionally, Nat Geo revealed the launch of multi-platform initiative Planet Possible, a program that empowers consumers to tread lightly on the planet.

Aurora‘s performance of “The Seed” from Bergen, Norway was the first musical segment of the special. Then, José González went deep into Sweden’s Särö Västerskog Nature Reserve to play “Visions” and Kidjo performed “Dignity” in Paris.

Next, viewers were taken to the grounds of Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts for Yo-Yo Ma‘s take on Mark O’Connor’s “Appalachia Waltz.” From there, Jim James introduced the premiere of My Morning Jacket’s “Feel You” video. “Feel You” is featured on The Waterfall II, MMJ’s 2020 studio album.

Valerie June offered “Home Inside” from Brooklyn before legendary reggae musician Ziggy Marley played “I Don’t Wanna Live On Mars” and Rostam showed off his prowess on multiple instruments with “These Kids We Knew.” Next, Willie Nelson teamed with his son, Micah Nelson for the fitting “Laws Of Nature” and Rogers ended the special by leading her trio through “Love You For A Long Time” in California’s Topanga Canyon.
