My Morning Jacket One Big Holiday 2015 Recordings Available

Between January 31 and February 3 My Morning Jacket played three instant classic performances filled with debuts -both covers and originals -and guest spots during this year’s installment of One Big Holiday at the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Official recordings of the MMJ sets from Mexico are now available for purchase via LiveDownloads.com.

The three recordings are available as a bundle as well as individually through the download portal. Though MMJ debuted three originals in Mexico, the band has requested to delay the inclusions of those tracks until after the release of The Waterfall on May 4. These songs will be sent to anyone that purchased the shows after May 4.

Opening night featured Adam Granduciel of War On Drugs guesting on “I’m On Fire” and “Steam Engine,” along with Amelia Meath contributing to a segment that included a cover of Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You.” Other covers performed on Night One were Christopher Cross’s “Ride Like The Wind,” The Cars’ “Drive” and Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game.” Night Two saw My Morning Jacket joined by Ben Bridwell for a cover of “Luckenbach Texas” and also featured covers of “Stir It Up,” “Bennie and the Jets” and “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys.” The February 3rd finale saw many guests including Taylor Goldsmith and Conor Oberst and featured a double dose of Velvet Underground covers as well as a Ferris Bueller’s Day Off shout out in the form of “Danke Schoen” and “Twist & Shout.”
