The Card Game For Music Lovers & Shit Talkers: My Fake Band

What do artists like The String Cheese Incident, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Disco Biscuits, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Spoon and Ween have in common? Impeccable taste in stage names. My Fake Band is a music inspired card game that captures the absurdity surrounding band/artist names and song titles. During gameplay, players use their imagination to create and write down the song title for a ridiculous band drawn from the deck. To score points, players then attempt to guess who wrote each hit song title.

The music scene has forever been a lawless wasteland of endless bands who rise and fall much like the tide. In this vast world there are a few things that all bands have in common, such as the process of choosing band names and song titles. You may ask yourself, how do they do it? Why did they choose that ridiculous name? What does it all mean?

My Fake Band takes the guesswork out of the equation with 150 fake band cards and 150 genre cards. Developed for 4 – 8 players and recommended for ages 17+, during gameplay, you and your crew will produce endless hit song titles based on over 20,000 fake band and genre combinations drawn from the deck.

Created by Never Played Out LLC, My Fake Band aims to capture the imagination of the music scene through their Kickstarter campaign by offering many unique and fun “Street Team Quests.” With quests ranging from tweeting @NPOgames your own fake band names to filming Dragonforce’s Through The Fire and Flames being sung karaoke style, there is a quest for everybody. Completing one or more quests gives you the ability to play a direct role in unlocking stretch goal features for My Fake Band.

The Kickstarter campaign ends on July 29. For the most up to date information, follow My Fake Band on Kickstarter and @NPOgames on social media.
