Musicians & Others Remember Art ‘Poppa Funk’ Neville

Legendary New Orleans keyboardist Art “Poppa Funk” Neville died yesterday at the age of 81. In the late 1960s, Neville rose to prominence as an integral and influential co-founding member of The Meters alongside bassist George Porter Jr., guitarist Leo Nocentelli and drummer Zigaboo Modeliste. In response to the news of Neville’s passing, many fellow musicians and others took to social media to share their condolences and remembrances of the pioneering funk artist.
