As reported, impresario Michael Dorf will present The Music Of Aretha Franklin all-star concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City on March 6. Several additional acts have been added to the talented lineup of performers honoring the Queen Of Soul.
Dorf has revealed Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member Sam Moore, as well as vocalists CeeLo Green and Ledisi will also be on stage at The Music Of Aretha Franklin concert. They join the previously confirmed lineup that includes house band Antibalas, Melissa Etheridge, Kenny Loggins, Ann Wilson, Todd Rundgren, Sarah Dash, Glen Hansard, Rhiannon Giddens, Taj Mahal, Living Colour, Allen Stone and Bettye LaVette.
The concert for Aretha will mark Dorf’s 14th annual tribute held at Carnegie Hall, with 100 percent of the net proceeds given to music education organizations for underprivileged youth. Previous benefits honored the music of Bill Withers, David Byrne, Paul Simon, Prince, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, R.E.M., Neil Young, The Rolling Stones and others, totaling over $1.3 million in net funds raised by the series to date.
