Multiple Bust Outs For Pearl Jam In Tampa Including Jimi Hendrix Cover

Seattle rockers Pearl Jam continued their tour-opening swing through Florida last night in Tampa. The band delivered a 32-song performance chock full of tour debuts and a handful of tunes they hadn’t played in years at Tampa’s Amalie Arena.

After opening with “Why Go” and “Mind Your Manners,” Pearl Jam offered tour debuts of “Animal” and “Got Some.” “Corduroy” was followed by another string of tour debuts that included “Love Boat Captain,” “Low Light,” “Red Mosquito” and “Hard To Imagine.” One of the evening’s biggest surprises came towards the end of the main set, when Pearl Jam dusted off Binaural b-side “In The Moonlight” for the first time since September 9, 2011. Other tour debuts performed in the main set were “My Father’s Son,” “Getaway” and “Blood.”

Eddie Vedder was talkative during both of last night’s encores. He talked about the painful losses he’s faced ahead of “Pendulum,” “Off He Goes” and “Come Back.” “Off He Goes” had been on the shelf since October 17, 2014. Vedder then discussed the hometown Tampa Bay Lightning before the band started “Lightning Bolt.” Highlights from the evening’s second encore included the return of “Wasted Reprise” for the first time since October 22, 2014 and Eddie leading a solo cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine.” Pearl Jam ended the show with another bust out as guitarist Mike McCready started playing “Yellow Ledbetter” before the band kicked into a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing” which was last played way back on October 29, 2013.
