Multi-Cam Video | Warren Haynes Guests With DMB On Watchtower

One week ago today Warren Haynes sat in with the Dave Matthews Band at the Byron Bay Bluesfest in Australia, continuing a musical relationship that dates back over 20 years. Haynes emerged towards the end of DMB’s long headlining set to guest on a cover of “All Along The Watchtower.”

Matthews gave Warren plenty of room to turn out a fierce slide solo, which garnered a big smile from DMB drummer Carter Beauford. At one point both the guitarist and the drummer play at each other and we get to see two masters at work. Eventually Haynes drops the slide and tears into a frenetic run of notes that brings the solo to a climax, but not before he engages Tim Reynolds in a call-and-response duel. When Warren is finished ripping it up, he heads to the mic to finish off the song with Dave joining in for good measure.
