Mt. Joy’s two-night run at Red Rocks Amphitheatre began with a show Thursday night at the iconic outdoor venue near Denver. Supporting Mt. Joy was opening act Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners who joined the headliners during their main set for a collaborative performance of “Lake Missoula.”

Bozeman, Montana-based Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners released “Lake Missoula” as a single in 2023. Mt. Joy contributed to the updated version of the track that originally appeared on Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners’ 2017 debut album, RMCM. Last night’s opening slot and sit-in with Mt. Joy marked the first time Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners performed at Red Rocks.
