Mt. Joy Visits ‘Lake Missoula’ With Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners At Red Rocks

Mt. Joy’s two-night run at Red Rocks Amphitheatre began with a show Thursday night at the iconic outdoor venue near Denver. Supporting Mt. Joy was opening act Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners who joined the headliners during their main set for a collaborative performance of “Lake Missoula.”
Bozeman, Montana-based Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners released “Lake Missoula” as a single in 2023. Mt. Joy contributed to the updated version of the track that originally appeared on Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners’ 2017 debut album, RMCM. Last night’s opening slot and sit-in with Mt. Joy marked the first time Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners performed at Red Rocks.

Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners today released a new version of their Tik Tok-favorite “Evergreen,” with Caamp contributing to the expanded version of the song also originating from their RMCM album.
Mt. Joy’s Red Rocks run continues tonight, Friday, August 9 with the second of two shows. Wilderado will be supporting the band.
