Watch Goose’s Rick Mitarotonda ‘Let Loose’ With Mt. Joy In Mexico

Mt. Joy headlined the action on Sunday for the first night of the inaugural Out Of The Blue concert vacation event in Cancun, Mexico. The Los Angeles-via-Philadelphia rockers welcomed multiple guests including Goose guitarist Rick Mitarotonda during their set on Sunday at the Moon Palace Resort.

Mitarotonda is down in Mexico ahead of his appearances at Dead Ahead 2024, a new Grateful Dead-themed destination event coming to Moon Palace January 12 – 15. The Goose guitarist will perform with his Orebolo trio on Friday, January 12 and then teams with members of Dead & Company and Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros as the Dead Ahead band on Monday, January 15. Margo Price and Sturgill Simpson will also guest with the Dead Ahead band on the final day of the inaugural concert vacation.

Mt. Joy brought out Rick Mitarotonda to shred on “Let Loose” at Out Of The Blue. The song is featured on Mt. Joy’s 2020 studio album, Rearrange Us. Mitarotonda had ample opportunity to shine and engaged in a back and forth with Mt. Joy’s Sam Cooper. Caamp, Trampled by Turtles, Noah Kahan, Joy Oladokun and Briston Maroney are among the other acts performing at the four-day event which ends tomorrow. Kahan added to “Jenny Jenkins” and Oladokun sat-in on “Astrovan” with Mt. Joy at the inaugural festival.
