Much of the best advice is simple and practical. We modern folks tend to thrive on complication but it’s hard to improve on a hammer. And frequently the music that most informs our days, that most frequently scores our slow pilgrim’s progress, tends to get right down to the nitty gritty. In a week where many of us will be traveling long miles towards say Indio, California or Yosemite or New York City to celebrate another Halloween amongst likeminded revelers, it seemed appropriate to offer some pragmatic road music to kick off the week.

Marillion‘s recent output is chock full of good advice, including the simple encouragement to “Don’t Hurt Yourself” and the quiet reminder that while destinations are swell “Happiness Is The Road.” Safe travels and a strong wind at your back wished for all the musical travelers this week!
