Upstate New York’s own moe. played a two-show New Year’s Run at the Palace Theatre in Albany that culminated with a New Year’s Day performance. The January 1 show saw the jam stalwarts revive four songs from the Star Wars movies they had debuted on Halloween in Philadelphia.

moe. began the show with their version of John Williams’ famed “Star Wars Overture” which led into fan-favorite “Recreational Chemistry.” Guitarist Chuck Garvey then fronted the band on “Shoot First” before the return of the snappy “Cantina Band” from Star Wars. The beloved “Spine Of A Dog” > “Buster” sequence brought the first set to a close. The group came out of the gates with another Star Wars song to open the final set of the run, “The Imperial March.” It was then time for a tour of North America as “Captain America” led into “Mexico.” The ballad “So Long” came next followed by “Paper Dragon” and “Bullet” > “Meat.” moe.’s version of Meco’s funky “Disco Wars” ended the second set. For the encore, moe. said farewell to fans with “Letter Home” and “Okayalright.”
