Gas was a mere $1.22 a gallon in 1996, the last time moe. played the city of Binghamton, New York before Wednesday night’s performance at The Forum Theatre. The upstate New York jam stalwarts returned to Binghamton last night with Cabinet aboard as openers. Two members of Cabinet wound up sitting in with moe. for a Band cover as the final song of the evening.

moe. mainly focused on classic originals last night with the first set containing a “Kids” song sandwich with “Down Boy,” “Skrunk” and “Zed Naught Z” in the middle before closing out the stanza with a cover of “Godzilla.” The second set also featured a creative sequence with “The Pit,” “San Ber’dino” and “Seat Of My Pants” among the songs played between segments of “Tubing The River Styx.” After moe. opened the encore with “It,” J.P. Biondo and Pappy Biondo of Cabinet came out for a rendition of The Band’s “The Weight.”

moe. now heads to New York City for a show at (le) poisson rouge tonight followed by two nights at The Best Buy Theater.
