While the days of summer are quickly passing by, festival season remains in full swing. Plenty of music festivals are planned in the coming weeks and months as the calendar shifts from summer to fall. Weekends are packed with events aimed at satisfying live music lovers. Earlier this summer JamBase teamed with Yakima to launch our Music Festival Packing Guide, which was recently updated to highlight more items to help you to make the most of your festival experience.
Additionally, JamBase and Yakima have partnered together to create the Yakima Pop-Up Stage video series, presenting original performances from some of our favorite artists in unique locations. The fourth installment features moe. performing their original “Annihilation Blues.”
Issued as a single off their 2014 studio album No Guts, No Glory, “Annihilation Blues.” is credited to moe. guitarist Chuck Garvey. “That song was intended to be this acoustic, dirge-like blues thing,” Garvey stated when the song came out. “It ended up being more of a pile-driver electric song with that acoustic underpinning to it.” The group offered an acoustic rendition of “Annihilation Blues” during a performance at a record store that same year. Garvey, guitarist Al Schnier, bassist Rob Derhak, drummer Vinnie Amico and percussionist Jim Loughlin broke out their acoustic arrangement of the the song at the Yakima Pop-Up Stage set up at the 4 Peaks Music Festival in Bend, Oregon.
