moe. Concludes Tarantinoe. Double Feature In Philadelphia: Full Show Audio

moe. brought a series of two Halloween Weekend shows in tribute to the music of the films of Quentin Tarantino to a close on Saturday night at The Fillmore Philadelpia. Once again the five-piece played songs from Tarantino’s movies and re-worked their own originals to fit the theme.

moe. kicked off Saturday’s first set with a take on Tomoyasu Hotel’s “Battle Without Honor Or Humanity” from Kill Bill. Next up was their own “Annihilation Blues” ahead of “Bullwinkle Part II” by The Centurions from Pulp Fiction. moe. then turned “Shoot First” into “Shot Marvin” in reference to a scene in Pulp Fiction which gave way to the instrumental “CalifornIA.” moe. closed out the first set with their own “Head” or “Ear” on this night in reference to a scene in Reservoir Dogs.

Fans were shown a video of moe. reenacting a fight scene before the band opened the second set with Neil Diamond’s “Girl You’ll Be A Woman Soon” from the Pulp Fiction soundtrack. The night rolled on with “Timmy Tucker” turned into “Vinny Vega.” moe. transitioned from “Vinny” into a cover of Link Wray & His Ray Man’s “Rumble” from Pulp Fiction, which in turn segued into “Bring You Down” or on this night “BUDD.” The heavy focus on Pulp Fiction continued with a cover of Kool & The Gang’s “Jungle Boogie” and “Stranger Than Fiction” performed as “Watching Pulp Fiction.” For the finale of the second set moe. treated the faithful to “Billy Goat” played as “Kill Bill.” moe. then said farewell with an encore of Chuck Berry’s “You Never Can Tell” featuring a Twist contest on stage a la Pulp Fiction and an extended “Recreational Chemistry.”
