moe. Busts Out Radiohead Cover In Richmond
By Andy Kahn Oct 5, 2016 • 7:55 am PDT
On Tuesday night moe. held a concert at The National in Richmond, Virginia. One particularly noteworthy highlight of the show was the set one closing bust out cover of a Radiohead favorite for the first time by the band in more than three years.
Set one opened with “Brent Black” and the five-piece returned to the same song to close out the second set. The show-opening rendition segued into “Tubing The River Styx” > “The Pit” which would be reprised throughout the second set. The closing song of the first half was “Karma Police,” marking the first moe. performance of the Radiohead cover since October 2, 2013 at Higher Ground in Burlington, Vermont.
Midway into the second set “Happy Hour Hero” transitioned into “The Pit” which moved into “Annihilation Blues” before coming back to “The Pit” and the resolution of “Tubing The River Styx.” From there “Puebla” and the aforementioned closing “Brent Black” concluded the song and set. “The Ghost Of Ralph’s Mom” put a cap on the night as the lone song of the encore.
